Round 4 - Critically Acclaimed, but was it crap?

This week the girls took aim at some Critically Acclaimed films, but obviously, they thought they were crap.

What makes a movie Critically Acclaimed? If it's Critically Acclaimed that must mean it's good right? No! The girls discuss some Critically Acclaimed movies which they thought were crap.

But first, what were we drinking?

Bianca was drinking Down The Lane Pinot Grigio Arneis

Available from BWS

Sarah was drinking Brown Brothers Moscato & Savvy B:

Available from Liquorland

Amy was drinking Boy meets Girl Sparkling Chardonnay:

Available from Naked Wines

Bianca discussed the many pitfalls from James Cameron's Avatar and decided on further inspection, it both sucked and blew.

As promised, here's the link for the Cinema Sins Everything wrong with Avatar in 4 minutes or less.

Hope you enjoy this as much as I did! - B

Sarah talked about Les Misérables, which had the potential to be an amazing movie but in Sarah's opinion falls short on many different levels.

Amy discussed the Godfather. A movie that had all the potential for Amy to love it but alas she hated it. Despite being the winner of many awards, Amy can't seem to understand why people loved it (full acknowledgment Amy doesn't understand most things).

Round 3 - Darwin Awards

This week we brought light to the best kind of stupidity in the world, the Darwin Awards.....

One of our favourite topics to discuss. Stupid people doing stupid things that eventually led to their untimely demise. The girls chat about the Darwin awards and some of their recipients.

But first, what were we drinking?

Bianca was drinking Tanqueray Gin and Tonic:

Available from Dan Murphys

Sarah was drinking McWilliams Hanwood Estate Tawny:

Available from Dan Murphys

Amy was Jen Pfeiffer Sav Blanc

Available from Naked Wines

Sarah looks into Sir Francis Bacon and finds out that no matter what schools you attend or how smart you really are, it only takes one idea to change how you are remembered through history.

Bianca chronicled the fateful story of a man named George, his three mates, and George's young son. These men from Melbourne, Australia went out Lizard Duck Hunting... you can pretty much guess how that ended or you can listen to the podcast.

Created By: Bianca

Amy discovered that there were way more men who win this prestigious award and tried to find some female winners (average 7 to 1).

There was, in fact, a duo who won the award in 2017 -Nitzia and Clarissa

and another young lady who received runners up in 2016 -

This led Amy to believe that women tend to be stupider in groups which is definitely true for this trio!

Round 2 - Hotels Obscura

This week we take aim at a few of the finer accommodations in life...

Due to the lockdown situation, the girls were living through, they decided to take a look at some of the unusual accommodations available to travellers.

But first, what were we drinking?

Bianca was drinking a Warburn Estate Rumours Pinot Griggio:

Available from BWS

Sarah was drinking a Brown Brothers Moscato Rose:

Available from Sarah's fridge or Liquorland

Amy was drinking a Liz Richardson Merlot:

Available from Naked Wines

Bianca opened with the Stanley Hotel and we learned that the infamous hedge maze wasn't a hotel staple until 2015

WARNER BROS

We discussed some of the paranormal activity in the hotel (Bianca called bullshit). From all accounts, the 4th Floor has the most activity.

Amy asked; is the blood elevator scene from the 4th floor?

Answer - no, it was on the second floor.

Here are a couple of the pictures as promised:

JOHN MAUSLING

The Friendly Cowboy:

For anyone who is interested in the paranormal, put this on your bucket list. Although Bianca called bullshit, she's still going to stay here one day. Have to see it in person to be 100% sure.

Sarah first looked at the Conrad resort in the Maldives with its beautiful underwater room and amazing oceanfront rooms

The second one was the Kakslauttanen arctic resort in Finland where you can stay in a spectacular glass igloo and watch the northern lights as you drift off to sleep. This one is a must-do.

Amy looked at two amazing hotels, the first being the Faralada Crane Hotel in Amsterdam

How does a crane hotel even work? Have people ever just fallen off? Amy discusses it all!

Amy's second hotel was a hotel with rooms inside of a cave.

The Lookout Cave Hotel

After completing the initial research into hotels and motels situated in caves it was quite clear that there are many all over the world and are not just for those amongst us with a batman complex.

Round 1 - Weird Phobias

This week we went down a phobia rabbit hole.....

What is a phobia? What are treatment's for a phobia? What on earth is this phobia? Do I have this phobia? The girls chat about some of the weird and wonderful phobias out there.

But first, what were we drinking?

Bianca was drinking The Elephant in the room Pinot Gris:

#selfcare

Sarah was drinking Brown Brothers Moscato & Savvy B:

Amy was drinking R Paulazzo Chardonnay:

R. Paulazzo NSW Chardonnay 2019

Bianca's first phobia discussed was; Papyrophobia which is the extreme, unwarranted, and irrational fear of paper.

We, of course, asked the big questions like "how do they wipe their arse?" and "if they go into a newsagency, do they just shit themselves?".

The second one discussed was; Agrizoophobia, which is the morbid fear of wild animals.

To which we discovered Katie Holmes is a badass bitch and we all unanimously decided #DontPokeTheLizard #DontGoInTheNature

Sarah's first phobia is Chorophobia, which is the fear of dancing.

We discuss some of the causes and treatments of this phobia.

The second phobia is Anatidaephobia, which is the weird phobia of being afraid that there is a duck somewhere watching you.

We also give some facts about ducks.

Amy discussed a phobia close to her heart - Trypophobia. A phobia which she claims to have (not been diagnosed by a medical professional). This phobia is where a person experiences fear or aversion to clusters of small holes.

Also, the girls did an online quiz to see how bad our Typophobia really is:

Round 43 - Interview with Jeff Deskovic
