Round 39 - My Favorite Book or Book Series

This week the girls take aim at my favourite book/book series...

Deep under their somewhat unintelligent, mildly alcoholic facades, the girls are big nerds who love books. Tonight they discuss their favourite book and/ or book series.

But first, what were we drinking?

Bianca was drinking The Chronicles Cabernet Sauvignon

Available from BWS

The Vinoair Bianca was banging on about is available in many places like; Dan Murphys, Temple & Webster, and Amazon. Just to name a few places. Get one people, to save you washing decanters!!!

Sarah was drinking Brown Brothers Moscato & Sav

Available from Dan Murphys

Amy was drinking Puttin' on Lou - Ritz Pinot Gris

Available from Naked wines

Bianca started off with a brief history of books and called out old mate Cassius Dio (again) and to be fair it was current events. Then Bianca moved on to some fun facts or tidbits as she was calling them.

The world’s smallest book is NOT the little book of calm! Who knew? Anyway, it's actually called; Teeny Ted from Turnip Town. It is verified by The Guinness Book of Records.  The book is in production and measures 100 micrometres by 70 micrometres.

Remember folks! If you see someone reading and they are moving their lips they are doing an amazing job, literally 110% per cent.

Then Bianca got into her book series and in true trashbag style, she chooses to discuss Jilly Coopers Rutshire Chronicles, specifically Riders, Rivals, & Polo.

Amy was not ok trying to pick a single book or series of books for this week's topic. After much internal debate (otherwise known as she drank dinner) she decided to discuss a crime fiction series that was set in her old hometown.

The Hal Challis detective series by Garry Disher is amazing and will thrill readers especially if you are from the Mornington Peninsula.

A full list of  books that make up the series can be found at Gary Disher's website

Sarah after tossing up a couple of book series, decided on Vampire Academy. This series, which she has read a couple of times, is about a young girl who is half-human half-vampire who is training to be her vampire best friend's guardian and falling for her instructor.

Round 38 - World's Dumbest Criminals

This week the girls take aim at Worlds Dumbest Criminals...

What's not to love about a story about someone trying to commit a crime and being foiled by their own stupidity? Nothing we say! So sit back and listen to a few tales of stupidity at its finest!

But first, what were we drinking?

Amy was drinking Jen Pfeiffer The Rebel Merlot and for dessert, she had a can of Zeffer Cider Co Apple Crumble Cider.

Available from Naked wines and Dan Murphy's

Bianca was drinking smooth operator cabernet merlot.

Available from BWS

Sarah was drinking Elysian Springs Syrah

Amy introduced this week's topic by discussing a few quick tales from Australia and Croatia before moving on to her main tale for the evening.

The subject of Amy's main story was a man who thought it would be a good idea to leave his phone number with the people at the shop he proposed to rob so they could call him when the manager returned to open the safe.

Sarah tells the tale of an attempted robbery of a liquor store by a man who had his eye on more than just the merchandise. She also told the tale of a man trying to impersonate a police officer using a restaurant gift card as his ID.

Bianca finished off this week's episode with the twisted story of a jealous son (Dorsey Sanders) whose life takes an unexpected turn. The story spans 3 countries (USA, Rarotonga, & New Zealand) and is stupidity at its finest!
