Friday Night Wine Fight: emu wars

This week the girls take aim at what it means to be Aussie as f**k...

This week the girls wanted to honor their homeland and discuss some of the weird and wonderful things that make people think that's Aussie AF (As F*ck)!

But first, what were we drinking?

Amy kicked us off tonight by describing what it means to be Aussie AF and then discussed some of the strange lingo Australians are known for. 

Some examples include: 

G’day = good day
Barbie = BBQ
Chunder = vomit
Dunny = toilet
Fair Dinkum = meaning it's real or true
Durry = cigarette
Bottle-o = bottle shop or liquor store
Daks = pants
Yakka = work
Shelia = woman
Tucker = food
Cobber = friend
Bonza = good (use this word more people!)
Relos = relatives
Bum nut = chicken egg (this was Amy's dads favourite along with holy snapping duck shit)
Bogan = which is our word for country folk, rednecks, or someone who is very Aussie but a bit backward 
Woop woop  = which means in the middle of fuck knows where 

Sarah enlightened everyone with the almost surreal story of the Great Emu War. This war was fought by the farmers and Australian military personnel... only to lose to the emus. 

Bianca took aim at the very poor taste "sport" of dwarf-tossing. Dwarf tossing is a pub attraction in which people with dwarfism, wearing special padded clothing or Velcro costumes, are thrown onto mattresses or at Velcro-coated walls.

It is illegal or banned in a lot of developed counties. But, not in Straya! Laws may prohibit dwarf-tossing implicitly, but there are no explicit laws preventing a consenting dwarf from being 'tossed'.

So remember to get consent before you toss!

Every week one of the girls finds a reason to tell their wonderful listeners about why you should not go into the nature. This week, at the request of a fan, the girls discuss what they like about the nature.

Bianca opened with how this topic got her wishing for a holiday and then she put down the shovel, dusted off her fuzzy tail and got back on topic.

Her favourite thing in "The Nature" is the beach and she gave you listeners some insight into topless bathing.

Amy normally spends a good chunk of the episode explaining what she hates about the nature so this episode was completely different for her. For Amy her detest for the nature is not 100% true.

Amy is a vegetarian and tries very hard to protect the environment by recycling and reusing everything she can. In summary, she likes animals (but not too close), nature is a formidable asshole (much like herself), and she likes the positive effect that nature has on her mental health (in short spurts, she still hates camping).

Sarah talks about some of her favourite things she likes to do out in the nature such as hiking, camping and going to the beach during a storm much to Amy displeasure. It looks like Sarah might like the nature the most out of the group.
