Round 20 - Song lyrics, what did they actually mean?

This week the girls take aim at the real meaning of some song lyrics...

Ever listened to a tune and thought what does that mean? Well in some cases the true meaning of a song is not what it appears to be. This week the girls chat about some hidden meaning of song lyrics and some fun tidbits along the way.

But first, what were we drinking?

Amy was drinking R Paulazzo

Available from Naked Wines

Sarah was drinking Innocent Bystander Rose Moscato

Available from Dan Murphy's

Bianca
was drinking Grands Les Maurins Savvy B

Available from Aldi

Amy kicked us off discussing why some artists don't always say what they mean when writing their songs. In some cases, it could be considered socially irresponsible, immoral, or even illegal to say exactly what they mean.

Amy then discussed the song every breath you take by Sting and the Police and I shot the sheriff by Bob Marley.

Sarah is the meat in the sandwich this week and starts with Bon Jovi's song Always.

She then moved on to an oldie Little Richard's song Tutti Frutti.

She also gives a list of some other songs that she was tempted to do for funsies.

Bianca, swimming in her wine backstroked into her songs:
  • Ace of Base - All That She Wants.

  • BTO - You Aint Seen Nothin Yet

  • Lou Reed - Vicious

Did you guess the hidden meanings in the songs discussed tonight?

Round 19 - Season finales - the good the bad and the ugly

This week the girls take aim at season finales...

Season finales have the power to divide us! Tonight the girls have a chat about the good, the bad, and the downright ugly of season finales.

But first, what were we drinking?

Bianca was drinking Villa Elsa Pino Grigio

Available from Aldi

Sarah was drinking Campbells Muscat

Available from Dan Murphy's

Amy was drinking the Butterfly effect Rose

Available from Naked Wines

Sarah starts us off by introducing our topic of season finales and talked a bit about why we hold so much value in them. She then jumps into her ugly ending of Angel which nearly ruined the series for her.

She then discussed the bad final episode of Merlin and after getting cranky, found her happy place with Avatar The Last Air Bender.

Bianca was the meat in a Sarah and Amy sandwich. Bianca started with her "good" which is her all-time favourite TV show Scrubs, and controversially discussed the ending being season 8 and not season 9 (med school).

Then she moved on to her "bad" which was Sex and the City, seriously they should have embraced girl power and not undermined all the characters' integrity... but what would we know?. Next Bianca riled up her blood with her "ugly" and trashed the ending of Hemlock Grove.

Amy finished us off by discussing the ugliest season finale she has ever seen being Twin Peaks. Amy then discussed what she thought was a bad one being Rosanne and concluded on a high note with a good one being Schitt's Creek.

Amy realised after recording that there are 6 seasons of Schitt's Creek, not three 🤦‍♀️. Apologies for that!!! Still a truly happy ending though.

Round 18 - What Superpower Do You Want? & Why?

This week the girls take aim at superpowers...

Ever thought about what superpower you would have if given the chance? I think we all have. Pour yourself a drink and have a listen to what powers the girls would have and why they would have them and see if yours are the same.

But first, what were we drinking?

Bianca was drinking Bleasdale Malbec

Available from Dan Murphy's

Sarah was drinking Brown Brothers Crouchen & Riesling

Available from Dan Murphys

Amy was drinking R Paulazzo La Provincia Rose

Available from Naked Wines

Bianca opened with a few examples of real-life superpowers and then cracked on to her segment telepathy. Turns out probs not going to be as fun as anticipated and she would probably just fuck off to the Himalayas away from society. After she helps Amy shave her murder floof, of course.

Amy then discussed her chosen power, telekinesis, the multiple applications it could have in everyday life, and what superheroes have these powers so you get an idea of what she wants to be able to do. Unfortunately, science is a thing so it's unlikely she is going to get the power to move things with her mind any time soon.

This is the Scarlet Witch from the Marvel franchise demonstrating her telekinesis powers.

Sarah ends with the wish of having the ability to control and create the four elements; Earth, Air, Fire, and Water (heart, go planet!). She was driven by the possibility of diverting or even stopping the devastation of natural disasters or maybe even creating one.
